Benefits for Children, Parents, and Schools
Children: A space to relax, play, and learn safely outside the classroom.
Parents: Dependable, school-based childcare that supports working hours, busy mornings and holiday planning.
Schools: Offering dedicated wraparound care demonstrates your commitment to supporting families. Our buildings are a practical solution for expanding childcare provision without affecting your existing teaching spaces.

Two building styles for wraparound care
Schools can choose between log cabins or outdoor classrooms for wraparound care. Both provide space that can be used for breakfast clubs, after-school care, and holiday activities, depending on the school’s needs.

Log Cabins
Our log cabins are available in a range of sizes, making them adaptable for different wraparound care needs. Schools can choose optional extensions for extra storage or activity space. The timber construction provides a practical, durable interior suitable for breakfast clubs, after-school clubs, and holiday clubs.

Outdoor Classrooms
Outdoor classrooms are bespoke buildings, built in 10cm increments to fit your school’s site. Schools can also choose from different cladding options to match their grounds or preferences. These buildings provide a flexible, dedicated space for wraparound care and enrichment activities, with layouts tailored to suit your specific programme requirements.
Breakfast Club, After School Club & Holiday Club Space for Kidz Come First, Brookfields Primary School
We collaborated with Kidz Come First at Brookfields Primary School in Birmingham, which is part of the Create Partnership Trust, to design a dedicated wraparound childcare space. After assessing their needs, a 17m² log cabin with an additional 3m storage extension was selected as the most suitable solution.
Now fully in place, the cabin provides an engaging and inspiring hub for breakfast, after-school, and holiday clubs, supporting up to 25 KS1 children at a time. The extension offers valuable storage room for activities, resources, and pupils’ personal items.
By introducing a purpose-built wraparound care space, the school no longer needs to rely on shared classrooms or halls. The cabin delivers a secure, welcoming, and stimulating environment where children can begin and end each school day with excitement and confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions Wraparound Care Buildings for Schools & Nurseries
What is a wraparound care building?
A wraparound care building is a standalone learning and play space created specifically for out-of-hours childcare. It provides a dedicated environment designed around the routines, wellbeing and activity needs of children, creating room for schools to expand their capacity and provide wraparound support for all pupils who need it.
What activities are these spaces suitable for?
They are designed for a full range of wraparound childcare needs including early-morning breakfast clubs, structured play, creative workshops, storytelling, quiet reading, group games and end-of-day wind-down sessions.
Can the building serve uses beyond childcare?
Absolutely. Schools often use these cabins during the school day for support interventions, staff meetings, nurture-based learning, community sessions, or parent meetings, giving the building added value through multi-purpose scheduling.
Do schools need planning permission to install a cabin or modular childcare building?
Most schools do not need planning permission for modular cabins or temporary childcare buildings, as they are usually considered permitted development on school grounds. However, this can depend on the building size, location, and local council rules. We always recommend checking with your local planning authority before installation to ensure compliance.
