Sensory Room Discovery Days | Event Highlights & Next Steps

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent Sensory Room Discovery Days! If you missed it, here’s what happened - and how you can still come and experience our sensory and learning spaces in person.

Our recent Sensory Room Discovery Days at our Nottingham show site were a huge success! Over two inspiring days, we welcomed teachers, SENCOs, headteachers, OTs, business managers and education leaders from across the Midlands and beyond to experience our new dual-space school building in person.

Visitors explored both of our purpose-built rooms:

  • Sensory Room – designed in partnership with Sensory Technology to showcase calming lighting, textures and interactive equipment for pupils with SEND.

  • Teaching & Learning Room – a versatile classroom-style space for small group work, interventions, creative sessions or wraparound care.

It was brilliant to connect with so many passionate professionals, share ideas around inclusive learning environments, and see first-hand how thoughtful modular design can transform support and learning spaces in schools.

Education Buildings Wales Conference Round Up:

We came away from Education Buildings Wales Conference held at Cardiff University feeling inspired by the conversations around what schools in Wales truly need from their learning environments.
 
What stood out wasn't just the innovation in educational building design but the shared focus on what really matters to schools in Wales:
 
  • Supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) through inclusive, sensory-friendly environments
  • Embedding sustainability, not just as a target but as a guiding principle
  • Aligning with local and community priorities, not just national frameworks
  • Designing with empathy, for the pupils and staff who will actually use these spaces

At Cabins for Schools, we're proud to already be putting these values into action.
