Cabins for Schools is a business dedicated to providing educational facilities with extra outdoor learning spaces. From nurseries and forest schools through to higher educational environments, our aim is to create unique and inspirational areas where students can flourish and achieve their full potential.
The Benefits Of Outdoor Classrooms
Outdoor classrooms are gaining increasing popularity as an effective and cost-efficient way to supplement the learning space available at schools. Log cabins, modern outdoor classrooms or other wooden structures are becoming more common due to the unique learning environment they provide. Schools have found these spaces to be perfect for school libraries, reading nooks, nature learning, and special education – such as social and emotional learning (SEL) and nurture classes – making them attractive choices for today’s growing educational institutions.
At George Spencer Academy in Nottingham, we recently had the opportunity to visit their SEN classroom, “The Cloud”. This space provides a supportive learning environment for pupils with educational healthcare plans and complex learning needs. We were delighted to hear positive feedback from the students about why they enjoyed being there. In addition, the head teacher and specialist intervention case worker provided invaluable insight into how The Cabin helps its students.
